Werner Reiterer’s sculptures, installations and interventions confront us with the finiteness of life and often challenge the observer to act. The visible components of Life counts Death consist of a wooden cube and a drum pedal. Stepping on the pedal unleashes a powerful peal of bells. Bells marks an arbitrary moment when one person comes into the world and another person departs. Life and death are collapsed into one.
