Klangpost 4 consists of a collage and a video. A tableau composed of more than 400 sound postcards hangs on the wall. The sound artist, radio dramatist, and DJ Kalle Laar collects these playable postcards, now a thing of the past. In this installation he uses just the plastic ones produced in Poland between 1960 and 1980. On the wall, the cards form an ensemble designed with only visual criteria in mind. The video conveys the acoustic messages of the lo-fi audio medium. In the video, each individual postcard is played for 10-20 seconds, one after the other, on a record player.
