In his sound installation, Bruce Nauman incessantly speaks the words “für Kinder, für Kinder, für Kinder”. This work is the first German-language sound installation by the U.S.-American conceptual artist. Nauman came across the words “für Kinder” in a press release for Béla Bartók’s piano pieces for beginners, based on Hungarian folk songs, titled Für Kinder (1908).
