The hanging garden of the artist pair Scenocosme reacts to the visitor’s touch. Every plant responds with its own sound. Akousmaflore is a hybrid between plants and digital technology. Grégory Lasserre and Anaïs met den Ancxt use plants’ natural sensitivity to the electrostatic aura of human beings. To hear the “Akousmaflores,” carefully touch the leaves and stem, hold or stroke them lightly. Sometimes physical proximity alone is enough. Electronic interfaces and computer programs translate the plants’ reactions into sound.
